Artist's Comments

I'm kinda nervous about doing this ^^;

I know I haven't submitted anything recently but its basically because I've been working on this! So I'm obviously trying something new which is more extreme realism...but it's taking a while (this is still a work in progress by the way I still have to do the entire bg :noes:) Yeah...so any critiques? I'd love them!

To those who'd like to know the story in this picture...well that's basically just in my head right now and I might talk more about it when I submit the finished piece. This might take a while though, because I can barely do anything now that I've been bombarded by school work!! Anyone else having this problem :( (I miss summer...)

And also, I've become completely obsessed with historical fashion (thanks to my sister and ~britishbonaparte) And right now I love 18th century rococo  (overly large dresses and excessive frills ftw!)
So......I was going to add something as well....Argh why do I always forget things to put in the artist's comments?!

Many, many references used (my own) but no photo manipulation.

It's been so long since I've written the artist's comments...This feels strange! So how have you guys been?

This is...ridiculous. :]

Yay!!!!! You put it on! I can't wait till you finish the final one. Critique: her left eye is a little funky (not that I would be able to draw it any better). Other than that, it is super awesomeamazing!
But...umm..Anna, I'm britishbonaparte, not NapoleonBonaparte (hee hee).
I wish it was summer too....

:iconrelashio:
Yup :D And Ahhhhhhh! I'm so sorry about the name thing!!! I had a momentary brain lapse :slow: Lol!
And thanks for the critique! I need to see how I can fix that eye! Should I raise it? Or what do you think I should do with it?

And thanks for the compliments!!!! :glomp:

S'alright bout the name. I laughed when I saw it, but NapoleonBonaparte is a real person. He is some british dude.
It is only the white part of the eye that looks a little out of place. I'm not really sure what you should do but moving it up might work.
Will you be able to come to my house on Friday? I was thinking from like 11-3 or something. Idk <----I don't know

P.S. I'm trying to decide between the Graphire 4x5 tablet or the bamboo 5.8x3.7 one, they are about the same price. Also, which color is the best: gray, black or white?
P.P.S. This is how I felt during these past few days :work:

The image is beautiful, but I understand now that it is the main image plus details. I thought initially it had been split into a comic-like layout, and I thought that was really exciting, interactive, and a it caught my eye a lot more than the picture alone would have, and "reading" it, it is sad, lonely, and beautiful. And covering the rest I just don't get that from the main image alone.
I think comics have a slightly negative reputation in the art world, but it's actually changing. There's been an emergence in recent years of art comics, esp. the underground sort and it's taken a lot more seriously. King Cat comics is one that comes to mind. And the magazine Dangerous Ink also showcases a lot of art comics.

But in whatever way you decide to show it, it's a pretty image.

This is absolute a beauty!! Nice WIP. It really does.

Ah splendid. The work on the details are just magnificent, especially the China and lace :) So much expectation in her expression... as much as I have for this work to be completed!
